|
New York State Capitol is the capitol building of the United States. It has emerged as one of the most popular landmarks in the United States. It is situated in the capital city of Albania and serves as the venue for the New York Legislature. The construction of the building started in the year 1899. It took an amount of about twenty five million dollars to complete the entire building and hence it was regarded as the most opulent Government building of that period. The New York State Capitol is registered under the National Historic Landmark. The construction of the New York State Capitol took place between 1867 and 1899. |
The structure of the building was strongly influenced by the famous hotel, Hotel De Ville in Paris. The Capitol was designed in a Renaissance style by a team of three famous architects.
The most notable structure within the New York State Capitol is the Million Dollar Staircase. The Eastern Staircase that is about one hundred and sixty six feet long. The exterior part of the building is made with Hanowell's white granite. Among the compositions with which the exterior part of the building is made, there are marbles, which were cut by the early prisoners of the state in Sing Sing. The length of the granite is about two hundred and twenty feet tall. The underground tunnels have acted as important point of connections to famous sites like the Empire State Plaza and the popular building of Alfred E. Smith.
