The Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany features over twenty thousand exhibits that include six hundred sculptures, one thousand one hundred drawings, four thousand accessories and about sixteen hundred paintings. The library of the museum is stocked with a total of about eighty five thousand photographs.
The Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany has three main buildings. One of them houses the exhibits of Albany Institute of History & Art and the other two stand house the gift shops and meeting rooms. Among the grand exhibits of the Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany, there is the Hudson River School Gallery that has paintings by world famous painters like Thomas Cole and Frederic Church. One can also enjoy the paintings of the eighteenth as well as the nineteenth centuries. There are also exceptional works by Launt Thompson, Charles Calverley and Erastus Dow Palmer.
The Museum also features two mummies of the ancient period of Egypt. The Colonial Albany Gallery within the museum offers a wide collection of objects on the culture and history of America.
